A feast she wasn’t expecting!

Clover Greene would sooner crawl into her oven than host family for Thanksgiving dinner. Yet another annual ritual of too much food, served with a side of criticism over “Clover’s Bad Life Choices.” This year, she needs to distract them all—with a handsome fake boyfriend. And she has the perfect guy in mind.

Contractor Erick Fields is the poster boy for sexy single dads, and Clover has been secretly crushing on him for ages. She certainly wasn’t expecting Erick to agree to her insane charade…or to add lots of hot, wicked sex to the deal. If they can pull it off, the worst Thanksgiving ever might give them something to be really thankful for!

Dear Reader,

When my husband and I moved out to Oregon, one of our first trips was up Mount Hood to check out the famous Timberline Lodge (as seen in The Shining), to Mount Hood National Forest and Lost Lake, which is the most photographed spot in the entire state.  Upon arriving at Lost Lake on a fine October afternoon, we realized why.  The view of the top of Mount Hood is glorious, and on a clear day you can see the snow-capped volcanic peak reflected in the deep dark blue waters of the lake.  I’d never seen anything like it before.  It was utterly romantic.  And when a romance writer sees a place that beautiful and that romantic, she has to write a book about it.  In fact, I wrote three books about it, and this is number two in the Men at Work trilogy of books set in and around Lost Lake and Mount Hood.

I hope you enjoy Her Naughty Holiday, featuring Clover Greene, who owns and operates a highly successful garden nursery, and Erick Fields, the father of Clover’s teenaged assistant, Ruthie, who is determined to get her nagging family off her back about her personal life this Thanksgiving.  Meanwhile Ruthie wants a cool stepmother and has decided Clover’s the woman for her.  But is Clover the right woman for Erick?  We’ll see…

Happy Reading!

A love worth waiting for

Walking in her sisters’ successful footsteps is a tough act to follow. But Summer Dupree has high hopes for the new Bare Sophistication lingerie boutique slated for a grand opening in Miami. Then she spies a familiar face. Up-and-coming fashion photographer Aiden Chase brings back cherished—and painful—memories. And now her childhood confidant and fiercest protector is determined to take their former relationship to a new intimate level.

In the magic city to pursue his dreams, Aiden isn’t letting Summer slip away again. He can’t change the past—or events that altered his best friend’s life forever. But he’s ready to create a future together. Even when an unexpected threat resurfaces, Aiden won’t give up this time without a fight. Can he turn his long-simmering passion for Summer into a love story for the ages?

Dear Reader,

When I was initially creating the Dupree sisters, Summer was the sister I was ready to write about first.  Winter, Autumn and Summer are each unique in their own way, but Summer proves that sometimes you have to take a deeper look to understand what someone is going through.

I experienced a range of emotions while writing Summer and Aiden’s story.  I laughed.  I cried.  I jumped for joy after writing some scenes, while breathing a sigh of relief for others.  I’m a huge fan of friends-turned-to-lovers story lines, so I knew Aiden would be perfect for Summer.  They both have experienced disappointments and endured setbacks that have altered their friendship.

Danni’s story is next and will release in spring 2017.  I can’t wait for readers to meet the real Danni Allison.  Be prepared for a few surprises you won’t see coming!

Much love,

Sherelle

When that guy on the train turns out to be your boss!

Nurse Felicity Mitchell’s train journey of a lifetime is even more unforgettable when she meets Callum Hollingsworth. Neither is looking for temptation, but that doesn’t stop them from sharing one hot, wild night!

Except when they disembark, they learn that what happened on the train won’t stay on the train. Because the gorgeous stranger is Flick’s new boss…and it’s increasingly difficult to keep their chemistry under control and leave it at just one night!

Dear Reader,

When I was asked to write a duo with Emily Forbes centering around a house swap, I leaped at the chance.  I simply adored the movie The Holiday, and thought the concept would be great to play around with.  There are no snowy cottages or Jude Laws in this one, but there is Outback Australia, a delicious wounded doc and a no-nonsense small-town nurse who’s superwary of love – particularly when it comes in the form of a very temporary locum.

I was also thrilled finally to be able to put a train in a book!  In 2012 my husband and I travelled on the Indian Pacific from Sydney all the way across the country to Perth, and I have been wanting to put that trip in a book ever since.  Growing up as the daughter of a railway man, I’ve always felt trains are in my blood, and some of my happiest childhood memories involve train trips with the family.  There’s just something so romantic about saloon cars, moonlit landscapes flitting by and two strangers making love all night to the clickerty-clack of the rails against the track.

I hope you enjoy the journey through this book as much as I did bringing it to you.

Happy reading – and all aboard!

Trusting in the sweetness of love

Jackson Drayson has never been one to stick to the rules—or resist a dare. So when he’s challenged to jump-start a patisserie that rivals his cousins’ shop, Lillian’s of Chicago, he’s all in. Between his good looks, captivating manner and newly discovered gift for innovative cake designs, Jackson is soon winning over legions of customers, including Grace Nicholas. The willowy, reserved master baker is also Jack’s chief competition—and the one woman who seems immune to his legendary charms.

The delectable desserts she creates at her family’s leading Seattle bakery are all the temptation Grace needs in her life. A lover’s betrayal has made her wary of trusting another man. But Jackson can be so passionately persuasive…until Grace is accused of stealing his shop’s top secret recipe. Torn between loyalty and love, will Grace make the decision that can assure her a lifetime of sinfully sweet pleasure?

Dear Reader,

Have you ever felt an immediate connection to someone?  Mind-blown chemistry you couldn’t deny or control?  That’s what happens to Jackson Drayson when he meets Grace Nicholas.  His plan?  To win her heart.  But things go awry during their first date.  He burns dinner, then accidentally locks them in the bakery freezer.  Though all isn’t lost.  Jackson has seduction on his mind, and will stop at nothing to prove he’s the only man she needs.

Grace is torn.  Should she remain loyal to her family or follow her heart?  It’s an impossible decision to make, and secretly dating Jackson – her father’s sworn enemy – only complicates matters.  The dreamy baker is sweet and romantic, charming, too, and his kisses are as scrumptious as his pastries.  Grace and Jackson are a perfect match, and I think you’ll agree.

I enjoyed writing this series with my Kimani sisters, Yahrah St. John (Cappuccino Kisses), and Jamie Pope (Love and a Latte), and I’m eagerly looking forward to our next one!  🙂

All the best in life and love,

Pamela Yaye

The rake’s return

A decade ago, wallflower Alyssa Drake’s heart broke when Adam Alistair was banished from Mowbray. Now, he’s back–wealthy, titled and more cynical than before! And Alyssa’s determined not to fall under this notorious rake’s spell ever again…

Reluctant viscount Adam knows only betrayal. But Alyssa proves herself an unexpected ally when he finds his life endangered, and they are forced into a sham engagement. Their betrothal may be fake, but there’s no denying the very real passion that explodes between them!

Author Note,

I wanted to write a story about betrayal.  Not just the cost of romantic betrayal, but the long-lasting emotional impact of the betrayal children experience at the hands of selfish, self-serving or abusive parents.  How each subsequent betrayal in life just deepens the wound, driving us to thicken our armor, heighten our battlements, deepen our moats.

Our parents are our first models for learning about trust, self-esteem and unconditional love.  If those models are faulty we can still learn from other sources – siblings, other family members, friends and, later in life, lovers – but there will always be scar tissue:  a fundamental fault line of wariness and mistrust that any new relationship has to overcome.  Trust will have to be earned, built, tested, and only then accepted.  But couples who manage to overcome those barriers can often reach much richer emotional levels of intimacy than couples who come to love without question or challenge.

The Reluctant Viscount is just such a story about betrayal and redemption – how two scarred and wary individuals make a difficulty and uneasy voyage to overcome the impact of early betrayals, risking their hard-earned emotional safety in order to experience trust and love.

Beauty and the man who’ll never let her go…

On paper, this should have been the perfect arrangement.

Elise Bravo needed a job, desperately. And soldier turned thriller writer Jed Walsh burned through—almost literally, it turned out—assistants like hellfire through brimstone. Turned out he had some…unusual work habits to go along with his giant talent and ego. He threw knives to relax. He cleaned his guns as he acted out scenes. And more than anything, he hated cats…

Enter Elise, crack typist, master plotter and perfect for the live-in job in every way but one…two if you count Mr. Wiggles, her furry companion. For though Jed had sworn he would never get “involved” with a woman who worked for him, it took only a day or two with the perfectly professional, pencil skirt–wearing Bravo beauty to realize that he needed to keep Elise—in his bed, in his house and in his life. And the first step was building Mr. Wiggles a catio—because maybe there was more than one way for Jed to make Elise his.

Dear Reader,

Elise Bravo needs a high-paying job to put herself back on track after a series of losses in life, in business and in love.  Jed Walsh needs the perfect assistant.  He’s a world-famous thriller writer with a specific writing process:  he dictates his stories to his assistant.

Unfortunately, Jed is big and gruff and scary, a real beast of a man.  He’s having serious trouble keeping a typist; they tend to run away screaming.

And then Elise shows up at Jed’s door to apply for the job no other assistant has been able to keep.  She’s a whiz on the keyboards and he doesn’t intimidate her.  Jed may be hard to deal with, but he pays a lot.

It’s only supposed to be a temporary solution.  She’ll type his overdue book, make all that money and go back to her own life.

But then slowly, Elise begins to realize that she’s falling for her secretly softened beast of a boss.  As for Jed, he’s decided that, no matter what it takes or how much it costs him, he’s never letting Elise go…

I hope you enjoy their story as much as I did.

Happy reading, everyone.

A three-day bed-in is the perfect way for aspiring DJ Erica Gibson to get on air. This promotional stunt could even lead to her having her own show on the radio. Too bad she’s cohosting with the station Lothario rather than hottie Adam “the Hawk” Hawkins.

Her wish is granted when Adam shows up on location. Dream job and dream guy…does life get any better? After everyone leaves and the lights go out, Erica seduces him. While their steamy after-dark activities go against the station’s rules, they agree that what happens in the bed stays in the bed. Back at work those forbidden adventures still tempt them. Then again, there’s nothing like the thrill of the forbidden…

Dear Reader,

When I was a little girl, I read From the Mixed-up Files of Mrs Basil E. Franweiler by E. L. Konigsburg, about a pair of children who run away from home and live in the Metropolitan Museum of Art.  The idea fascinated me, but being a small-town girl, with no big museums nearby, I decided that if I ran away, I’d hide out at the furniture store.  I could sleep in a different bed every night and watch twenty TVs at the same time!

Those childhood imaginings were at work when I came up with the idea for Rock My World.  Of course, I and my characters have to return to the real world of jobs and friends and, well, life after our time hiding out at the furniture store.  That’s where the real challenge of any relationship lies.  I hope you’ll enjoy reading how Adam and Erica face their challenges – and how they fulfill their fantasies.

I love to hear from readers.  You can email me at Cindi@CindiMyers.com, visit me on the Web at www.CindiMyers.com or write to me at P.O. Box 991, Bailey, CO 80461.

Happy reading!

He let her slip away once…

Detective Fiona Reed lives a life far from the privilege of her family’s vast media empire. But forging her own path came at a cost, and an invitation to her family’s estate in the Hamptons is just the thing to help Fiona heal from her emotionally draining job. When sensual Leo Starks returns to her life, he’s no longer an intern, but now a brilliant lawyer who reawakens her deepest desires.

Ever since his fling with Fiona, Leo has been secretly in love with the beautiful officer of the law. Yet he can’t let his feelings for her wreak havoc with the job he’s been hired to do. But when a shocking revelation threatens to engulf the Meadows clan in scandal, can Leo protect the woman he’s determined to fight for?

Dear Reader,

With each story in The Meadows Family series, I fall in love with this family all over again.  It’s Fiona’s turn to decide what is important in her life.  I hope you enjoy this romantic journey that strums on heartstrings and invites you to fall for this winning couple.

At the time of writing this, the announcement of David Bowie’s death had hit the airwaves.  A true pioneer and participant of life and music was gone.  But one of the most memorable parts of his life was his love for Iman and the beautiful courtship of his soul mate that led to their marriage.

The power of love is magical, lasting and transformative.

I hope you also feel the magic with One to Win.

Peace,

Michelle
