Fate has one last zinger in store for Barbara Allen. His name is Michael Stevens, he is a basketball millionaire, he’s little more than half her age and he wants to spend the night!

Does Barbara dare throw convention to the wind and enjoy her very own boy toy?

It’s a decision she’ll need the help of her three best friends to make. But as the trio weighs in on whether Barbara should or shouldn’t, they come up with an outrageous plan that will mean a life change for them all.

Dear Reader,

Thank you so much for choosing Love Becomes Her, the first book in the Pause for Men series.  I do hope you enjoyed meeting Barbara, Stephanie, Ann Marie and Elizabeth and the men who love them.  Whoever said that moving past forty was time to turn in your pumps, haven’t met “the girlz”!

I had a great time crafting their stories and hopefully bringing you some moments of entertainment and enlightenment.  Each of their stories is about taking a stand for yourself and not being afraid when confronted with the obstacles that life throws in your path.

Stay tuned for the next installment, Saving All My Loving, which will feature Ann Marie and her dilemma when her estranged husband, Terrance Bishop, wants to come back in her life.  There are more twists and turns in store for Barbara, Stephanie and Elizabeth, as well.  But, of course, I can’t give it away.  You’ll have to read the book!

Blurb:

“You’re going to have to act like his wife, whether you want to or not.”

After seven years, the marriage of Conley and Lara Harrison is over. Lara still cares for Conley, but he’s hurt her once too often. She wants nothing more than to get her divorce and move on. But that’s not going to be easy. Not once she learns there’s a stalker pursuing Conley.

Lara’s a bodyguard and, according to everyone from her father to Conley, the perfect agent for the job. After all, no one’s in a better position to protect a husband than his wife.

Dear Reader,

I married my husband when I was nineteen years old.  He was five years older than I.  He came from a small town in West Texas, and I grew up in a large metropolitan area.  He was an engineer, and I wrote.  He was intense, I wasn’t.  My parents were married, his were divorced.  I’m Anglo, he’s not.

When we walked down the aisle, money had to be changing hands.  The odds were probably a thousand to one on the marriage lasting.  We were too young and too different.  But very much in love.

Twenty-seven years later, we’re still together – and still much in love.  We’ve moved fourteen times, from one end of the world to the other (literally).  We’ve lost dreams and replaced them with new ones.  We’ve lost hope and found it again.  Like everyone else’s our marriage has had good times and bad.

And that’s why I wanted to write Marriage to a Stranger.  Sometimes, no matter how long you’ve been together, you wake up one morning and realize you don’t really know the person next to you.  Your partner’s changed.  Or most likely, you both have.

In this book, Conley Harrison knows he doesn’t want a divorce.  He hasn’t been the best mate in the world, but he has his reasons and believes they’re good ones.  He decides he’s not going to let Lara go, at least not before he tries to make things right one last time.

His success – or failure – depends not only on himself but on Lara, as well.  Is their love strong enough to survive?

Sincerely,

Kay David

Married to the Sheikh…

ER doctor Kate will do anything to save her family’s livelihood. So when the Sultan of Amberach offers her a lifeline in exchange for her working in his state-of-the-art hospital and marrying his nephew – gorgeous, brooding sheikh Dr. Fareed Faruke – it’s a deal Kate has to accept!

Fareed has always known he’ll never have a say in who he marries, but he’s shocked to see beautiful Kate behind the gold silk veil. She’s the one woman he shouldn’t want – and yet the only woman he can’t seem to resist…

Dear Reader,

Books come together in many ways – a little bit here and a little bit there.  One of the ‘bits’ this time has now become legend in my family.  Some forty years ago my mother-in-law went to see a woman who read cards to tell the future, and this woman told her that if she went away on a trip with her widowed son and his two teenage daughters she’d never have to worry about him again.

That night the son in question phoned her from interstate, where he lived, to ask her to go to India with him and the girls.  She agreed – here was the trip the cards had foretold!  I joined their flight in far-off Western Australia as the tour leader, and that’s how I met my husband and the two teenagers who have become my very loved daughters.

It still gives me shivers up the spine when I realise just how little we know of the part fate must play in our lives.  I do hope fate is kind to you.

Falling for the secret prince

Claire Tremaine accepted the post as sole caretaker of a gorgeous island after a professional betrayal left her life in tatters. It’s the perfect place to heal, until her solitude is interrupted by a gorgeous solider who’s shipwrecked on her shores!

Raoul breaks down Claire’s barriers with his kindness and kisses, but she’s stunned when he’s revealed as Prince of Marétal. She believes they can’t be together…until Raoul whisks Claire to his palace! She’s stepped into the prince’s world—but can Claire capture this prince’s heart?

Dear Reader,

Stepping into the Prince’s World started life in my dentist’s waiting room.  The dentist surgery is understandably not my favourite place to visit, but with a lovely pile of glossies I can block out the thought of what’s ahead.  I flicked through the pages, looking at pictures of a certain soldier/prince and thought, what a combination!

And suddenly I was off and dreaming.  By the time I was escorted into the dentist’s chair I had my own soldier/prince in my head, and a heroine who deserved him.  I had shipwrecks and deserted islands, I had chandeliers and tiaras, I had my own kingdom – all I had to do now was get rid of one small dental cavity, escape the dentist and go write a book.

Welcome to Claire and Raoul’s world.  Enjoy.

Love is one unpredictable ride

Ride straight to the top of the rodeo circuit—that’s June Spotted Elk’s dream. Yes, bull-riding is a man’s world, but she won’t let anyone—not even a sexy, scarred stranger—get in her way.

Seasoned bull rider Travis Younkin knows what it’s like to make it to the top—and then hit the bottom. Back in the arena to resurrect his career, he can’t afford a distraction like June. No matter how far he’ll go to protect her from the danger. No matter how deeply the stubborn and beautiful rider gets to him…

Dear Reader,

Welcome to the rodeo, where dreams are made – and broken – in eight seconds in the arena on the back of a two-ton bull.

Men like Travis Younkin have been riding bulls for years – and Travis has the scars to prove it.  He’s trying to make his way back to the top of the bull-riding world, but there’s one rider who’s standing in his way – June Spotted Elk.

June was born to ride bulls.  The fact that she’s a woman in a man’s world doesn’t slow her down in the least.  She’s out to prove she can ride with the big boys – and she’s not about to let something like an old schoolgirl crush on her favourite rider, Travis Younkin, get in her way.

Travis knows how dangerous bull riding can be and he’s determined to keep June safe.  But when his concern turns into something  more, they’re both risking their rodeo dreams.

Rodeo Dreams is a sensual story about fighting for your dreams and falling in love.  I hope you enjoy reading this book as much as I enjoyed writing it!  This book will always hold a special place in my life because I sold it almost six years after I wrote it.  Rodeo Dreams is a real-life example of the power of perseverance.  Be sure to stop by www.sarahmanderson.com and join me as I say long live cowboys!

Angela Snowe is definitely driven—she’s shifting gears and moving into the fast lane of life. And she’s starting with gorgeous Josh Montgomery. Angela’s claiming Josh for one night of no-holds-barred sex. No more Miss Nice Librarian—she’s going to make all her fantasies come true…. Or rather, he is…

Josh Montgomery was known as the hot corporate tycoon who could find his way around the bedroom—and the boardroom. But he’s having trouble finding his way around how he feels about Angela. Her sexy proposition shocks him…even if it is the sweetest deal he’s ever heard. But will only one taste satisfy his explosive desire?

Dear Reader,

I can’t tell you how excited I am to be writing for the new Blaze series!  This line gives authors the opportunity to mix mind-blowing passion with tender romance in the best possible way!

I’ve always been intrigued by how people view sex and love differently – and how some people think they can keep the two separate.  Take Angela and Josh, my characters from The Driven Snowe.  Angela Snowe thinks that she can “experience” the passion of sex without being bogged down with the commitments of a relationship.  Ordinarily Josh Montgomery would agree with her, since he’d been practicing that very belief for years.  But with the right people, sex is not only an integral part of a relationship, but can be a doorway to the kind of love that most people only dream about.

I hope you enjoy reading this book as much as I’ve enjoyed writing it.  Better still, drop me an email at catyardley@aol.com, and let me know what you think!  And check our the Blaze website at www.try-blaze.com.

Winning is good. Succumbing is even better…

Evasion

Recently retired pro MMA fighter Steph Healy is through having rough-and-tumble romps with sexy blue-collar dudes. Unfortunately, Wilinski’s Fight Academy has hired an electrician with a body built to make a gal weep. And avoiding some full-body contact is taking all of Steph’s self-control.

Grapple

Carpenter-turned-electrician Patrick Doherty is damn good with his hands. Sure, he’s not what Steph is looking for—yet. But he’s about to prove that she has seriously underestimated her opponent…

Submission

The moment Patrick has her deliciously pinned, Steph knows she’s in deep, deep trouble. Because this seemingly mild carpenter has the mastery to give her exactly what she needs…and this is one takedown she’s willing to take lying down!

Dear Reader,

Here we are again, back in the heady basement confines of Wilinski’s Fight Academy!  If you joined me for rounds one and two, then you’ve met some of the men of the gym already.  But are you ready for Wilinski’s first resident female fighter?

Steph’s stepped into the ring with some tough opponents in her day, but nothing’s prepared her for the threats that Patrick poses-a thump in the nose, a hammer to the hand and, before long, a carpenter’s big, rough fingerprints all over her carefully guarded heart.

I hope you’ll enjoy watching this lovable working-class charmer dismantle Steph’s best-laid plans for a whirlwind romance with one of Boston’s urbane elite.  I certainly enjoyed writing their romance.  Most anyone will tell you, I just can’t resist a man with capable hands a steel-toed boots.

Happy reading!

What do women really want?

Journalist Allegra Fielding has a problem. She’s pitched a story to her boss–how to transform a not-so-perfect man into Prince Charming–and now she has to deliver! But where is she going to find a man willing to take part in a makeover?  Time to blackmail her roommate, Max….

But Allegra’s cunning plan backfires spectacularly when Max refuses to be “perfected”! He’s a guy who knows what he likes, and he’s going to enjoy proving to Allegra that there’s nothing hotter than a man who’s a little rough around the edges…

Dear Reader,

Incredible as it seems, Mr (Not Quite) Perfect is my 60th title.  I’m not quite sure how that happened!  I’ve fallen in love with every one of those sixty heroes, but I have to admit that Max is special-and not just because some of his quirks bear a resemblance to the civil engineer closest to my own heart!

Max is the ultimate Jessica Hart hero, I think:  not incredibly handsome or incredibly rich, not suave or sophisticated, but a man with integrity who doesn’t try to be something he isn’t.  In spite of Allegra’s efforts to transform him into “the perfect man” Max remains resolutely himself, and it’s Allegra who learns that loving someone isn’t about wanting them to change, but about accepting them as they are-faults and all.  Max isn’t any of the things she thinks she wants, but he turns out to be everything that she needs-and that means that he’s perfect after all.

So the next time I’m grumbling about a shirt being buttoned too high at the collar-I had no shortage of inspiration for this book!-I’m going to remember that!

Happy reading!
