Everyone says Kathleen Monroe is perfect—the perfect wife, the perfect hostess, the perfect mother.

But after a lifetime of practice, Kathleen is beginning to wonder if perfectionism is a good thing. After all, it didn’t help her marriage and might just have led to her daughter’s illness. And if those aren’t enough reasons for her to doubt her priorities, then meeting Logan Carr should be.

Logan’s great. He’s kind, patient and nothing like her first husband. But to Kathleen, he’s far from perfect…

Dear Reader,

Kathleen Monroe is at the heart of this trilogy.  After all, she’s the one who bought the old brick house in Seattle where three woman live as they embark on new phases of their lives.

As a writer, I love nothing more than exploring how people react to the greatest stresses I can throw at them.  You notice I say “people,” not “characters.”  That’s because I do try to create people as real as you and me.  Sometimes they’ve done ignoble things but are capable of growth and even sacrifice for their loved ones.  I’d like to believe almost everyone can and will do the same.

Which makes me a romantic, I fear!  So, sure, I’m writing about an angry teenager who is starving herself to death, a woman described by one of her roommates as a “princess” because she is beautiful, charming and spoiled, and a homely cabinetmaker who knows in his heart he isn’t good enough for the “princess.”  Doesn’t sound like a match made in heaven, does it?

But, if, just wait…  If I do say so myself, Logan Carr is one of my all-time most appealing heroes.  Question is, can Kathleen measure up?

Good reading!

“You threw your fifty-thousand-dollar engagement ring off the Brooklyn Bridge?”

Lilly shows up to her lavish divorce party with one goal in mind—to leave as quickly as possible minus a husband! Except he has other plans…and Riccardo De Campo isn’t easy to say “no” to.

Forced back into Riccardo’s glittering, gossip-fueled world, the price of perfection is still too high and Lilly’s old insecurities resurface. An unexpected consequence of their reunion raises the stakes even higher, and the media’s golden couple must finally confront the truth behind the headlines.

Dear Reader,

This story begins on a cold winter day with a cup of coffee, a newspaper and a real-life party that sparked a tale that just had to be told.

On the front page of my newspaper that morning was the story of a lavish divorce party a Manhattan billionaire was throwing to celebrate the end of his three-year marriage.  The embossed invitations, the incredibly civilised approach to the end of a union due to irreconcilable differences fascinated me.  What would bring a couple to this point?  Why would anyone want to end their marriage in front of family and friends?

I started to wonder-what if the billionaire didn’t really want a divorce?  What if what he really wanted was his wife back and this was the only way he could get her in the same room with him?  What if they were madly in love but the very act of being together destroyed them?  Could this marriage ever be saved?

My billionaire became sexy Italian wine magnate, Riccardo De Campo, and his feisty, on-the-run wife, Lilly.

I’ve dreamed of writing romances for as long as I can remember, but the story of Riccardo and Lilly’s tempestuous relationship was special.  It got me out of bed one night to write the first chapter when I was knee deep in another book and wouldn’t let me go until I’d written ‘the end’.

I entered Riccardo and Lilly’s story, The Divorce Party, in Harlequin’s 2012 So you Think You Can Write contest hoping others would love it as much as I did.  Never dreaming the De Campos would capture the imagination of so many people and win me the publishing contract I’ve always wanted.  Every minute of that journey was magical.

I’ve had a hard time letting Riccardo and Lilly go.  I hope you do too.

Enjoy!

When New York came to Texas…

Ex-ballerina Eleanor Patterson is the darling of Manhattan society – until she discovers her pedigree background is a lie. So she heads to sleepy Larkville for answers….

Sheriff Jed Jackson never expected to rescue a stunning woman from a herd of cattle, or to be so fascinated by the vulnerability beneath Ellie’s tough city veneer. Yet watching her unwind is irresistible, and as he helps her learn to dance again he wants to give both Ellie and himself a new beginning…

My Dear Fabulous Reader,

This story challenged my ideas of what makes family, and made me look closely at my own life.  It’s a hard thing not quite belonging.  Being the half- or step-sibling.  You’re on foot in and one foot out all the time.  Never quite fitting.  And whether or not you acknowledge it, and whether or not those around you mean it, there are always subtle ways that’s reinforced.

So imagine what it would do to you if it was your primary family you felt you didn’t belong in.  And never understood quite why.  For thirty years.

Meet Ellie Patterson.  Days before this story begins, dancer Ellie discovers that the man she thought was her father is not, and that she has a whole second family in small-town Texas.  Despite the fact she’s never left New York, she jumps in a rental car and heads south to find the family she never knew she had.  She’s more than ready to leave money and privilege behind in exchange for people who she might fit with.

Except then she meets Jed … a man who’s learned to live with his own demons.  And for the first time family isn’t the biggest thing on her mind.

This was a hard story to write, but the more I got to know Ellie and Jed (and Deputy!) the more I grew to love and understand them.  When ‘the end’ came it was quite hard to let them go.

I hope you enjoy meeting them as much as I did.  Enjoy!

Journalist Sadie Bliss is on a mission to prove herself as a world-class reporter. But three things stand in her way…

  1. Dangerously mouthwatering photographer Kent Nelson-he’s far too brooding and arrogant.
  1. A road trip across the Outback with the above distraction-did she mention she doesn’t do sleeping under the stars?
  1. An insatiable longing to throw her rule book out of the car window… Because what happens in the Outback stays in the Outback. Right?
