Title: Christmas in Montana (North Star, Montana, Book 3)
Author: Kay Stockham
Issues: Bereavement; Guilt; Parenthood
Jenna Darlington would not refuse a Christmas miracle. A widow, she’s struggling to keep her little family together. So when Chance McKenna offers her a job, it seems her wishes are coming true.
Too bad there’s a catch. Chance is not acting how she expects. Dressing as Santa to greet kids in the store? It’s charming. And seeing him out of that red suit… Well, it’s hard to keep her priorities straight! Worse, his preference for extreme sports is influencing her kids, and suddenly she’s got daredevils on her hands. Yet when Jenna tries to put distance between her and Chance, he proves that there might be more to this miracle than she thinks!
Thanks for picking up Christmas in Montana, the third book in my North Star, Montana, series. Each book stands alone, so if you haven’t read the previous titles, no worries. More information about those titles and work can be found at my website, www.kaystockham.com.
So what is this book about? When I started writing it, I thought it was a book about fear and how, if we let it, fear controls us. But then I discovered the story was about so much more. It’s about self-worth and how we find it. It’s also about rock climbing, moving on after the death of a spouse and how the worst person for you to fall in love with can also be the best person for you. As one character says, sometimes you have to let the crazy out and remember to have fun.
This book wasn’t what I had planned when I began writing it, but as Jenna discovers, life doesn’t always go as planned.
